Xiaomi Auto has unveiled powertrain details for its Pengcheng series vehicles. The series features Xiaomi’s self-developed Kunlun range extender, with the entire system designed to reduce long-term ownership and maintenance costs for users. All models in the series are compatible with 92-octane, 95-octane, and 98-octane gasoline, eliminating the need for mandatory high-octane fuel and offering greater refueling flexibility while lowering fuel expenses. In terms of energy efficiency, the Pengcheng series achieves a minimum WLTC-rated fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100 km under low-battery conditions. Positioned as a mid-to-large-size range-extended SUV targeting family users, this fuel economy gives the vehicle a competitive edge in its segment. For warranty and maintenance, the range extender and the entire tri-electric system (battery, motor, and power electronics) come with an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer manufacturer warranty. After the initial service, subsequent maintenance intervals are set at every 3 years or every 30,000 kilometers of range extender operation—whichever comes first. With the gradual release of Pengcheng series details, Xiaomi Auto has now completed its dual-track strategy covering both battery-electric and range-extended vehicles. Previously, the SU7 was launched in the RMB 200,000-class pure electric sedan market, while the Pengcheng series will enter the family-oriented range-extended SUV segment. Full specifications and pricing for the Pengcheng series have not yet been disclosed; Xiaomi will hold a Kunlun Technology Architecture launch event on July 30 to reveal further product details.
