On July 29, Dongfeng Motor Corporation’s R&D General Institute unveiled two self-developed prototypes at the Dongfeng Global Innovation Center: a 300kW kilovolt electric drive prototype and a 1,500kW megawatt ultra-fast charging station prototype. The kilovolt electric drive prototype integrates a 1,500V-rated SiC power module, operates within a voltage range of 450V to 1,000V, and delivers a peak power output of 300kW. It is compatible with 800V platforms and scalable up to 1,200V. Featuring a kilovolt architecture, intelligent variable drive parameters, and a proprietary coaxial gearbox, the system achieves industry-leading CLTC efficiency. It also incorporates a motor winding reuse function for boost charging, enabling a peak charging power of 180kW and compatibility with existing 500V and 750V fast chargers. The overall power density has increased by 30% compared to the previous generation, significantly easing vehicle underbody packaging constraints. This product will be deployed in the Mach Powertrain system and support the production launch of Yijing brand’s first kilovolt vehicle. The megawatt ultra-fast charging station marks Dongfeng’s first fully self-developed high-power charging solution. Equipped with a 1.2MW main unit and supporting parallel cabinet expansion, its power output can scale up to 2.4MW or higher. It delivers a single-gun peak power of 1,500kW and peak current of 1,500A, with a voltage range spanning 150V to 1,000V. The system achieves an overall efficiency of no less than 96.7%, meeting China’s new national standard for Grade 1 energy efficiency. Designed with modularity and platformization in mind, it is suitable for diverse applications across both passenger and commercial vehicles.
