MINI is developing a new Countryman model focused on off-road capability. The vehicle is currently undergoing final-stage testing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA, with an emphasis on validating its performance on gravel roads and rugged rocky terrain. The test car features increased ground clearance, black alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, and a roof-top tent, underscoring its outdoor adventure orientation. This variant is expected to be offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and may be based on the existing Countryman S, JCW, or all-electric SE ALL4 all-wheel-drive platforms, though its powertrain configuration has not yet been confirmed. The new model is scheduled to make its global debut in October 2026 and will compete in that year’s Rebelle Rally—an all-female off-road rally spanning over 2,500 kilometers through remote wilderness, where modern GPS navigation is prohibited.
