August production scheduling data for the lithium battery supply chain shows that sampled companies produced 198.8 GWh of batteries, up 8.9% month-over-month; cathode material output reached 244,000 tonnes, up 3.5%; anode material output totaled 214,000 tonnes, up 4.9%; separator production amounted to 2.23 billion square meters, up 0.9%; and electrolyte output reached 141,000 tonnes, up 5.6%. The industry is currently in its peak season, with robust energy storage demand both domestically and overseas, accelerating global electrification of vehicles, and additional support from year-end export rebate policies driving a rush to export and coinciding with the peak season for energy storage grid connections. These factors are expected to further boost production scheduling across the supply chain in the second half of the year. Analysts note that the current lithium battery price uptrend warrants close attention, while the industrial-scale expansion of sodium-ion batteries—from initial deployment to mass adoption—and the commercialization of emerging technologies such as solid-state batteries also hold significant growth potential.
