Dongfeng Forthing’s all-new midsize electric SUV, the Xinghai V6, will open for pre-orders on August 8. As the first model resulting from the strategic collaboration between Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor and Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution (HIAS), the Xinghai V6 is positioned as an “affordable smart six-seater.” All variants come standard with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS intelligent driving system, featuring identical hardware across trims and offering advanced functions without requiring additional subscription fees. In terms of design, the Xinghai V6 adopts a “Tri-Form Whale Biomimetic Aesthetics” language, blending SUV stance, MPV-like cabin volume, and coupe-inspired lines, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.269 Cd. The front fascia features a closed-off EV grille with vertically arrayed waterfall-style LED sequential headlights and functional air intakes integrated into the lower bumper. Measuring 4,835 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,755 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the vehicle comes standard with 18-inch star-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. At the rear, it sports a clean yet substantial “Morning Glow” full-width LED light bar. For intelligent driving, the Xinghai V6 is equipped with Huawei’s complete Qiankun ADS hardware and software suite, covering three high-frequency scenarios: urban commuting, highway cruising, and automated parking. In city environments, it supports precise vehicle following at intersections, smooth stop-and-go in traffic jams, optimized low-speed braking, and active recognition and avoidance of narrow roads and weaving cyclists or pedestrians. On highways, its Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) enables lane centering, adaptive speed adjustment, intelligent lane changes, automatic ramp entry/exit, and proactive avoidance of large vehicles. Its automated parking system handles various conditions—including standard spots, tight underground garages, and angled parking spaces—autonomously managing steering, gear shifting, and acceleration/deceleration. Powering the Xinghai V6 is a single-motor electric drivetrain delivering 135 kW of peak power. It offers two CLTC-rated range options: 400 km and 510 km.
