On August 11, artificial intelligence research company Anthropic announced a strategic partnership with asset management firm Macquarie and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC to jointly build a platform named Theseus Infrastructure. The platform will focus on developing and operating customized AI infrastructure tailored to Anthropic’s needs. Macquarie and GIC will hold the majority equity stake in the platform, while Anthropic will serve as its anchor tenant for data center capacity. Initially focused on the U.S. market, Theseus Infrastructure will see Anthropic bear the cost of any potential increases in consumer electricity prices resulting from the projects. Macquarie and GIC will provide the majority of the equity capital for site development and platform operations.
