Chen Zhuo, President of Avatr Technology, recently stated that the brand must maintain its independence in computing power orchestration and whole-vehicle solutions to remain competitive in the premium segment, avoiding becoming merely a hardware integrator. He emphasized that simply stacking hardware components cannot establish a sustainable competitive moat. Future R&D efforts will focus on three key areas: original design, customization for specific use cases, and AI-powered intelligent cockpits. Chen revealed that Avatr will launch a new six-seater flagship SUV in the fourth quarter of this year, integrating technologies from Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL. Regarding overseas expansion, the Avatr 07 will target the European market primarily, with the 07L variant scheduled to debut in Europe in December 2024. Both models have been developed from the outset to meet stringent five-star international safety standards. Additionally, Chen confirmed that the company’s IPO-related preparations are progressing steadily in accordance with regulatory requirements, though no further details were disclosed at this time. In response to earlier online reports quoting him as saying he “doesn’t consider the current cooperation model with Huawei essential,” Avatr clarified that the statement specifically referred to the approach of having Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution (IAS) division develop an exclusive smart driving version—a model deemed unnecessary—not a rejection of Huawei collaboration itself.
