Nine of Top 10 July Passenger Car Retail Sales Were NEVs; Only Corolla Cross Represented ICE Vehicles

In the top ten best-selling passenger vehicles in July, nine spots were taken by new energy models, with only one fuel-powered vehicle—FAW Toyota's Corolla Cross—ranking eighth with sales of 14,510 units. Geely Galaxy E5 led the chart with 32,306 units sold, followed by Leapmotor A10 at second place with 26,424 units, and Tesla Model Y in third with 25,158 units. Xiaomi SU7 and BYD Yuan UP ranked fourth and fifth with 21,044 and 20,275 units sold, respectively. Since April 2026, sales of fuel-powered vehicles have continued to decline, while the market penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles has remained above 60%. Recently, Jaguar Land Rover launched a limited-time purchase promotion for the Land Rover Defender 110 HSE, offering a direct price reduction of RMB 170,900 from the starting price, with trade-in customers eligible for additional benefits of up to RMB 30,000.
