On August 12, Jaguar unveiled the interior design of the production version of its Type 01 electric vehicle and announced that the model will make its official debut on October 6. Departing from the brand’s long-standing "British lounge" aesthetic, the new interior adopts a minimalist approach, significantly reducing physical buttons and knobs. The cabin emphasizes a "horizontal line" theme—though these lines actually run longitudinally along the vehicle's length—including a continuous, elongated center console, door armrests, and door panel trim strips. A linear element runs across the top of the dashboard, echoing the exterior design ahead of the windshield and extending down to the base of the steering wheel hub. The steering wheel features a two-spoke design. Inside, a digital streaming rearview mirror is integrated into the lower portion of the windshield, while a large digital instrument cluster sits directly in front of the driver. A smaller central touchscreen displays climate control interfaces. Touch-sensitive controls are embedded into both spokes of the steering wheel, accompanied by two stalks mounted on the steering column. The roof features a single-pane glass panel—narrow in width but extending far toward the rear of the vehicle. All four seats feature a seamless, one-piece design without traditional pleats or piping, which Jaguar describes as offering a "GT driving position." Walnut wood and chrome accents have been eliminated; instead, door panels and the center console are finished in a metallic brass tone. Jaguar showcased the Type 01’s interior this week at Monterey Car Week, though the exterior remains camouflaged.
