ZF's 8-speed hybrid transmission officially entered mass production on August 12 at ZF Transmission Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. The project took 18 months from initiation to product rollout, with only 13 months between official launch and the first units rolling off the line. At the production launch phase, the overall localization rate of materials reached 79%, while the localization rate for controllable components stood at 95%. The transmission delivers a maximum input torque of 800 Nm and integrates an electric motor with 160 kW of power and peak torque of 450 Nm. Featuring a modular architecture and compact axial design, it is suitable for longitudinal-platform vehicles including sedans, MPVs, pickups, and off-road SUVs. ZF stated that the product has already secured nominations from multiple customers.
