Domestic semiconductor components manufacturer Zhenbao Technology has confirmed plans to invest in building a semiconductor components R&D and production base in Wuhan’s Optics Valley, with a total investment of RMB 520 million and a three-year construction period. Founded in 2016 and listed on the STAR Market in June 2026, Zhenbao Technology is a national-level specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and innovative “Little Giant” enterprise focused on the R&D and manufacturing of semiconductor components. The new facility will primarily produce silicon carbide components, high-purity silicon precision parts, and aluminum nitride ceramic materials along with their associated components—products used in front-end semiconductor manufacturing processes such as chip etching and thin-film deposition. Once operational, the project will significantly expand the company’s production capacity and provide localized supply chain support to wafer fabrication enterprises in Central China. So far this year, the East Lake High-Tech Development Zone has attracted more than ten integrated circuit (IC) companies across the upstream and downstream segments of the IC industry chain, spanning areas from chip design to packaging and testing. Currently, Optics Valley hosts over 300 IC-related enterprises, with industrial output rising from approximately RMB 5 billion in 2014 to over RMB 100 billion, achieving an average annual growth rate of 30% over the past five years.
