On August 13, Yijing Auto announced that Aaron Kwok has been appointed as the global brand ambassador for its debut model—the Yijing X9, a flagship six-seater family SUV. Pre-sales of the vehicle will commence on August 18. During the Hong Kong Auto Show in June, Aaron Kwok personally experienced the Yijing X9 and expressed his recognition of the progress made by China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. Later that same month, during his concert tour in Wuhan, he took a test ride in the X9, experiencing its driving dynamics and spacious interior firsthand. Yijing is a premium NEV brand co-created by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Huawei’s Qiankun under a “full-stack native co-creation” model. The two companies have jointly invested RMB 10 billion and assembled a dedicated team of 5,000 engineers, deeply integrating their collaboration across every stage—from product definition to manufacturing. The Yijing X9, unveiled globally at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2024, saw its first production unit roll off the assembly line in Chengdu on July 20. Measuring 5,301 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm, the Yijing X9 comes standard across all trims with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system and an 896-line dual-path LiDAR. It also features the CAS 5.0 six-dimensional collision avoidance system. The chassis employs an all-aluminum structure and is equipped as standard with dual-chamber air suspension, CDC electromagnetic dampers, and rear-wheel steering. Inside, the cabin features HarmonySpace 6, Huawei’s latest intelligent cockpit platform, highlighted by twin 17.2-inch 3.4K “Butterfly Wing” panoramic displays. The vehicle offers an impressive 3,294 mm of longitudinal interior space. All three rows of seats feature a maximum recline angle of 133°, with seat cushions measuring 1,101 mm wide. With all six seats occupied, the trunk still provides 484 liters of cargo space—enough to accommodate four 20-inch suitcases and three large backpacks. Folding down the third row expands capacity to 1,368 liters, and the second row can be configured into a full-length bed. Pre-sales for the Yijing X9 are scheduled to begin on August 18, positioning it as a direct competitor to domestic flagship SUVs such as the Aito M9 and Li L9.
