BYD officially launched the new Qin MAX, a member of the Qin family, on the evening of August 13. The vehicle is available in two powertrain variants—EV and DM-i—with nine configurations priced between RMB 99,900 and RMB 143,900. At the rear, it sports distinctive Chinese-knot-inspired full-width taillights. The vehicle measures 4,866 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,495 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It offers a trunk capacity of 523 liters, expandable up to 1,450 liters, and includes 27 interior storage compartments. Six exterior color options are available: Starry Purple, Forest Green, Danxia Orange, Chasing Light Silver, Soft Snow White, and Cloud Dawn Pink. Among these, Cloud Dawn Pink, Starry Purple, and Forest Green can be paired with a black roof for a two-tone look. Interior color choices include Light Sand Gray and Morning Glow Purple. All EV variants come standard with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology, accompanied by one year of complimentary flash charging privileges. Select trims are equipped with the "God’s Eye B" LiDAR-assisted driving system, supporting urban navigation assist, highway navigation assist, and all-scenario parking assist. BYD also provides a parking guarantee and one year of urban navigation assist coverage. The vehicle features an onboard AI assistant named “Didi Xia.” The EV versions offer peak motor outputs of either 240 kW or 120 kW, achieving a 0–100 km/h acceleration time as quick as 5.8 seconds. The DM-i plug-in hybrid variant combines a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with an electric motor; the engine delivers a maximum output of 74 kW, while the motor produces up to 175 kW. It offers an NEDC-rated all-electric range of 320 km and a combined full-tank/full-charge range of 2,370 km, with an NEDC-rated fuel consumption of just 2.59 L/100 km under low-battery conditions. The Qin MAX adopts a rear-wheel-drive layout, featuring a front double-joint MacPherson strut suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension. It is also equipped with BYD’s Yunyang-C+ road preview system, intelligent motion sickness mitigation technology, and TBC high-speed blowout stability control.
