Chery iCAR V25 Debuts with 1.5T Range Extender, Set for Q4 Launch

On August 14, iCAR, a brand under Chery, unveiled its all-new V25 model in Chengdu. Positioned as a “tech-savvy, stylish, lightweight flagship SUV,” the iCAR V25 is the third product in the iCAR V series following the V23 and features a range-extended electric powertrain. It is scheduled to officially launch in the fourth quarter of this year. In terms of design, the iCAR V25 adopts a “boxy” silhouette, with overall dimensions of 4,636 mm (including the externally mounted spare tire/storage box) × 1,920 mm × 1,855 mm and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It offers five exterior color options: white (with eight-layer pearl paint), black, silver, green, and matte gray. The vehicle boasts a minimum ground clearance of 197 mm, a 30° approach angle, a 28° departure angle, and a 17° ramp-over angle. The rear features an 88° wide-opening side-hinged tailgate equipped with a 22.7L external storage box. For intelligent driving, the iCAR V25 is equipped with the “Super Falcon 700+” ADAS system, powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6P chip delivering 560 TOPS of computing power. An optional LiDAR enables advanced driver-assistance functions including highway navigation pilot, urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), and automated parking. Under the hood, the V25 uses Chery’s self-developed SQRH4J15 1.5-liter turbocharged engine as its range extender, producing a maximum output of 115 kW. It is paired with a 33.67 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering two WLTC-rated all-electric range variants—145 km and 150 km—with corresponding fuel consumption figures of 6.9 L/100 km and 7.15 L/100 km under low-battery conditions. The vehicle is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a suspension setup comprising MacPherson struts at the front and a five-link independent rear suspension.
