GAC Qijing GT7 Undergoes World’s First Teardown of L3 Autonomous Driving Architecture

On August 16, GAC Group announced that the Qijing GT7—the debut model from its premium intelligent new energy vehicle brand "Qijing," co-developed with Huawei Qiankun—would undergo the world’s first live disassembly event focused on its L3 conditional automated driving architecture at 19:00 that evening. The event was jointly witnessed by Liu Jiaming, CEO of Qijing Auto, and Jin Yuzhi, Senior Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Yinwang, with TIM, founder of Filmic Hurricane, also participating. Positioned as a mid-to-large-sized intelligent shooting brake coupe, the Qijing GT7 starts at an official price of RMB 209,900. It measures 5,050 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The vehicle is available in six standard exterior colors—Provence Purple, Sicily Orange, Chaka Silver, Monte Carlo Red, Pamir Black, Nice Blue, and Meili White—and offers three custom paint options: supercar lacquer, luminous lacquer, and mirror-finish lacquer. The Qijing GT7 is among the first vehicles equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 intelligent driving system, featuring 36 high-performance sensors, including dual-path 896-line image-grade LiDARs (the highest specification currently in global mass production), 11 HD cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. Its perception system delivers a 400% improvement in resolution compared to conventional solutions and can reliably detect small obstacles up to 120 meters away. The vehicle features a full-chain redundant architecture for L3 automation, providing dual-system redundancy across eight critical domains: power supply, computing, perception, positioning, communication, steering, braking, and human-machine interaction. It has already obtained Guangzhou’s road testing permit for L3-level autonomous driving.
