On August 17, the official account of Huawei Electric Drive Technology Co., Ltd. announced that GAC Aion's new all-electric sedan, the Ray 7, will be equipped with Huawei's DriveONE motor. The vehicle is set to debut on August 19 in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. According to vehicle registration data released earlier this month by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the car features a 180 kW peak-power motor supplied by Huawei Digital Power Technologies Co., Ltd., and batteries provided by both GAC CATL New Energy Battery Co., Ltd.—a joint venture among CATL, GAC Group, and Aion—and Inno-Battery Technology Co., Ltd., Aion’s in-house battery development company. In July this year, GAC Aion unveiled its new "Ray" series, with the first model, the Ray 7, measuring 4,960 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.
