SAIC Volkswagen recently released official interior images of the ID.ERA 8X. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the vehicle features a range-extended electric powertrain and a spacious five-seat layout, and is set to make its global debut at the Chengdu Auto Show, which opens on August 21, 2026. Inside, the ID.ERA 8X adopts the same design language as the ID.ERA 9X, equipped with a dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a "Magic Screen" digital instrument cluster, Smart Surface door panel displays, and a 15.6-inch dual-screen infotainment system. Exterior highlights include a full-width light bar dubbed the "Cosmic Light Wing," L-shaped daytime running lights, and headlamps featuring the brand’s signature "Hexa-Core High-Energy Grille" design. The vehicle measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, 1,750 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,970 mm. Under the hood, the ID.ERA 8X is powered by a 1.5T engine serving as a range extender, delivering a maximum output of 105 kW, paired with an electric motor producing a combined peak power of 220 kW. It will be offered with two battery options—51.1 kWh and 65.2 kWh—providing WLTC-rated all-electric ranges of 260 km, 275 km, 330 km, and 345 km, depending on configuration.
