On August 20, Shenlong Automotive Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ). The company was jointly established by six parties: Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Stellantis Group, Yangtze River Industrial Investment Group, Wuhan Financial Holdings Group, WEDZ Industrial Investment Group, and Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile Company Limited (DPCA). It has a registered capital of RMB 81,952.497 million (approximately RMB 8.2 billion). According to business registration records, the company completed its registration on August 17, with Huang Yong serving as its legal representative. Its registered address is located on the second floor of Office Building at No. 99 Fengshu 5th Road, WEDZ. The company is classified as a limited liability company (foreign-invested, non-wholly foreign-owned), with business scope covering automotive parts R&D and new energy vehicle sales. In terms of equity structure, DPCA has committed RMB 19.77 billion, representing a 24.13% stake, making it the largest shareholder. Wuhan Financial Holdings Group and WEDZ Industrial Investment Group each committed RMB 16 billion, holding 19.52% respectively. Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Stellantis Group each committed RMB 11.09 billion, each holding 13.53%. Yangtze River Industrial Investment Group committed RMB 8 billion, holding a 9.76% stake. Under the cooperation framework, Shenlong Technology will assume responsibilities for vehicle R&D, industrial investment, brand operations, and marketing and sales, while DPCA—as one of the shareholders—will primarily focus on manufacturing. Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis Group, stated that Shenlong Technology will serve as a dedicated platform to support the development and industrialization of two Jeep-branded models and two Peugeot-branded models. Production is expected to commence from 2027 at DPCA’s Wuhan plant and be distributed globally through Stellantis’ worldwide sales network. According to the plan, Shenlong Technology will initially launch four new energy vehicle models under the Dongfeng Peugeot, Dongfeng Citroën, and Jeep brands, encompassing both battery electric and plug-in hybrid technologies, targeting segments such as rugged off-roading, urban commuting, and family mobility. All models will be developed and manufactured to global standards, enabling simultaneous global launches. Additionally, a R&D center and a Jeep brand sales company will be established in Wuhan. Multiple Peugeot new energy models and global Jeep models will also be localized for production at DPCA’s Wuhan facility.
