According to two sources familiar with the matter, Tesla has halted production of its Solar Roof solar tiles and instructed third-party installers to offer only conventional solar panels going forward. The company cited the product as "financially unviable" as the reason for discontinuation. Since early 2024, Tesla has ceased reporting Solar Roof installation figures separately in its quarterly earnings reports, and the product has since virtually disappeared from the company’s marketing efforts. Currently, the Solar Roof product page on Tesla’s U.S. website redirects to the solar panels page, and the "Solar Roof" option has been removed from the energy products menu, which now lists only Solar Panels, Powerwall, and Megapack.
