Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with China's State Administration for Market Regulation, initiating a recall effective immediately of 53,452 vehicles produced between March 4, 2025, and April 16, 2026, including certain Nano 06, Aeolus L8, eπ007, and eπ008 models. The affected vehicles have an emergency mechanical door release handle that closely matches the interior trim color, making it difficult to identify and operate. In extreme scenarios—such as severe collisions causing a complete failure of the vehicle’s low-voltage system—this issue could hinder occupants from quickly opening the doors to escape. Dongfeng Motor Group will remedy the issue free of charge by affixing a warning label at the location of the emergency mechanical handle. Additionally, via over-the-air (OTA) updates, the company will upgrade the window control software for the Nano 06 and Aeolus L8 models to implement an automatic window-lowering strategy following a collision.
