29th Chengdu Auto Show Opens with New Models from Xiaomi, BYD, and More

On August 21, 2024, the 29th Chengdu International Auto Show opened in Chengdu. This year’s exhibition attracted nearly 120 domestic and international automotive brands, showcasing over 1,600 vehicle models. Xiaomi Auto held a welcome ceremony for its owners at its booth, displaying two models: the SU7 N90 Max and N70 Max. The N70 Max has a pre-sale price of RMB 259,900. At the Harmony Intelligent Mobility (Hongmeng Zhi Xing) booth, the SHIYE V8 made its global public debut alongside the ZHIYE RX and AITO M9 Ultimate. Positioned as a premium family-oriented MPV, the SHIYE V8 features an integrated “Cosmic Star Ring”贯穿 headlight and “Nebula” taillights. The ZHIYE RX is available in three exterior colors: Flash Butterfly Blue, Titanium Silver, and Aurora Green. The AITO M9 Ultimate measures 5,402 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, and is equipped with a triple-screen “Cosmic” display setup, a single-projector dual-focus AR-HUD, and the ALPS Healthy Cabin 3.0 system. BYD Dynasty Network unveiled the Han EV and the third-generation Tang SUV. The Han EV comes in three variants: - 1,008 km RWD LiDAR Premium (pre-sale price: RMB 249,900), - 1,008 km RWD LiDAR Flagship (RMB 269,900), and - 880 km AWD LiDAR Flagship (RMB 299,900). All variants come standard with dual-chamber air suspension, flash charging, rear-wheel steering, and the “Eyes of God” 5.0 intelligent driving system. The vehicle dimensions are 5,256 mm (L) × 1,999 mm (W) × 1,510 mm (H), with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The third-generation Tang SUV made its global debut, featuring a 35.4-inch integrated remote “Star Ring” screen and a 30-inch panoramic display. It measures 5,045 mm × 1,980 mm × 1,760 mm with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, Yunniu-A dual-chamber air suspension, and intelligent AWD, it offers a range of up to 850 km and is scheduled for market launch in Q4 2024. Fangchengbao globally premiered two new models—the Fangcheng S and Fangcheng S GT—and has opened pre-orders with prices ranging from RMB 230,000 to RMB 280,000. Both models are expected to launch in Q3 2024. The Fangcheng S measures 5,060 mm (L) × 1,967 mm (W) × 1,483/1,458 mm (H), with a 2,960 mm wheelbase. The Fangcheng S GT is offered in two lengths—5,025 mm and 5,095 mm—with identical other dimensions to the Fangcheng S. Both models are available with either a single motor (245 kW or 300 kW) or dual motors (190 kW + 300 kW), powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries. M-Hero Auto unveiled the X700, the first model of its new X-Series, making its global debut. This boxy-style SUV measures 5,035 mm × 1,999 mm × 1,910 mm with a 2,920 mm wheelbase and boasts approach and departure angles of up to 30° and 31°, respectively. It integrates Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving system and Harmony Cockpit, features an 896-line LiDAR, and offers two powertrain options: a 1.5L range-extender (95 kW) and a plug-in hybrid (113 kW). Qijing Auto showcased its global debut model, the GX7, claiming L3-level autonomous driving capability. The cabin features a ten-screen setup, including dual 15.6-inch smart displays for front passengers, an 88-inch XHUD head-up display, and a 2K laser projector for rear passengers. It supports 32-inch interior and 46-inch exterior projection and includes four zero-gravity seats with a “one-touch flat bed” function that transforms the cabin into a full-size bed in 20 seconds. The 2024 Chengdu Auto Show will run through August 30.
