Geely Auto is preparing for the practical application of solid-state battery technology and plans to launch pilot deployments across multiple brands starting in 2027. The solid-state battery cells can achieve an energy density of 500 Wh/kg—approximately double that of Geely’s current "Golden Brick" batteries. Geely aims for vehicles equipped with these batteries to deliver a single-charge range exceeding 1,000 kilometers and a designed service life surpassing one million kilometers. Volvo, a Geely subsidiary, is expected to be among the first brands to participate in the pilot program. Geely has not yet disclosed specific brands or markets involved in the initial rollout.
