2027 BMW i3 Touring Spied Testing, Estimated 885 km WLTP Range

On August 24, 2024, a group of prototype BMW i3 Touring estate models for the 2027 model year were spotted near the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The vehicles wore camouflage only on the front and rear ends, with the main body already in production form. Internally codenamed "NA1," the model is expected to launch in 2027. Built on BMW’s all-new Neue Klasse electric vehicle architecture, the i3 Touring occupies a niche between a sedan and a crossover, targeting customers who need more cargo space but prefer not to choose the iX3. The i3 Touring carries over the wide taillight design from the i3 sedan and features an integrated tailgate. The simplified rear wiper base suggests the tailgate glass may no longer open independently. Powertrain-wise, it is expected to feature BMW’s sixth-generation electric motor and battery technology, equipped with a 108.7 kWh cylindrical-cell battery pack. Under WLTP conditions, the vehicle is projected to deliver a range of approximately 885 kilometers on a full charge. In terms of charging, it supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kW—charging from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes—and also offers 22 kW AC charging capability.
