According to informed sources, AIVA, a brand under Saidou Technology, is currently in discussions with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) regarding the adoption of its battery-swapping solution, and related planning is still underway. AIVA’s first mass-production model, the ME7, is scheduled to debut within 2024, with reservations expected to open in early 2025. The vehicle will be sold in both domestic and overseas markets. Currently, Saidou Technology is constructing its first flagship store in Chongqing’s Guanghuan commercial district. Saidou Technology was formerly known as Chongqing Landian Technology. In 2024, the company completed a capital increase and share expansion round totaling approximately RMB 6.671 billion. Local Chongqing state-owned capital became the largest shareholder, Seres Group the second-largest shareholder, and CATL participated through its investment platform. Operating as an independent entity, AIVA is responsible for brand management, product development, and business execution. Seres provides support in vehicle manufacturing, supply chain, quality systems, and engineering expertise; CATL delivers energy solutions including battery technology, battery safety, and charging/battery-swapping infrastructure; the state-owned investment platform offers industrial resources; and ByteDance’s Volcano Engine supplies technical services such as the Doubao large language model and intelligent cockpit systems. On June 9, 2024, Saidou Technology unveiled AIVA’s first concept car, the Origin Concept, and announced that the ME7 would launch later that year, targeting the mainstream market segment above RMB 200,000 across its entire lineup.
