China-Led International Standard for Testing Magnetic Components in Electronic Communications Officially Released

Recently, an international standard titled "Measurement Methods and Test Procedures for Transformers and Inductors Used in Electronic and Telecommunication Equipment," led by Chinese experts in collaboration with experts from the United States, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, and other countries, has been jointly published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This standard uniformly specifies key testing methods—including dynamic capacitance, thermocouple temperature rise, and incremental inductance—as well as over ten test procedures such as high-frequency operating loss and AC resistance. It is applicable to fields including 5G and AI server power supplies and new-energy power conversion systems.
