Li Auto Announces New MEGA Launch on September 2

Li Auto announced that its next-generation Li Auto MEGA will be officially unveiled on September 2 at 19:30. The vehicle was already registered in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) 408th batch of the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products” in June 2024, under the model name Li Auto MEGA Home. The new vehicle measures 5,355 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm and a curb weight of 2,925 kg. It has a top speed of 200 km/h and features a seven-seat layout (2/2/3 configuration). The second-row seats can slide forward and backward but cannot be folded or flipped; the third-row seatbacks can fold flat onto the seat cushions and cannot slide longitudinally, though they can be flipped forward as a whole by up to 85°. With all three rows in normal use, the luggage compartment offers a longitudinal length of 680 mm, which expands to 1,066 mm when all rear seats are fully folded and flipped forward. In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is equipped with two electric motors—one produced by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (155 kW) and the other by Jiangsu Li Auto Drive Technology Co., Ltd. (258 kW). The energy storage system uses a ternary lithium-ion battery pack, with individual cells supplied by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and the complete battery assembly manufactured by Ningde Jiaocheng Era New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Exterior features include semi-recessed door handles and newly added side- and rear-facing solid-state LiDAR units, increasing the total number of LiDAR sensors on the vehicle from one to four. According to optional interior images, the cabin adopts a design language similar to the all-new Li Auto L9 and features a panoramic, integrated display screen spanning the dashboard.
