Moonshot AI in Talks with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google for Revenue-Sharing Deal on Kimi K3 Model

On August 26, artificial intelligence startup Moonshot AI was in talks with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google—Alphabet’s subsidiary—regarding revenue-sharing agreements, aiming to have the U.S. cloud giants host Moonshot’s Kimi K3 model on their cloud platforms. Moonshot is seeking a 30% revenue share from services related to the K3 model on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud—a rate consistent with the terms it offers major clients using its open-weight models. The discussions are currently at an early stage, and no final agreement has been reached. Unresolved disagreements remain between the parties on issues including the revenue-sharing mechanism, data access rights, and auditing of token consumption.
