In August 2026, FORVIA HELA Ignite and 51Sim—one of China’s leading physical AI simulation platform companies under 51WORLD—signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Shanghai. The two parties will integrate their respective technological strengths to jointly build intelligent driving validation capabilities aligned with global regulatory frameworks. Under the agreement, the collaboration will combine FORVIA HELA Ignite’s traffic rule engine with 51Sim’s high-fidelity simulation platform to establish a complete validation loop covering “regulatory rules – traffic scenarios – simulation testing – compliance assessment – certification evidence.” The FORVIA HELA Ignite traffic rule engine incorporates a continuously updated global database of traffic regulations, capable of translating written legal provisions into executable and verifiable machine-readable rules. This enables real-time regulatory compliance checks for vehicles operating in diverse road environments across different countries and regions, while generating traceable compliance evidence—each judgment directly linked to specific legal articles and a full reasoning chain. The partnership will initially focus on regulatory certification scenarios such as UN R157 and UN R185 in Europe, as well as domestic Chinese traffic regulations, prioritizing advancements in intelligent driving simulation testing, regulatory compliance validation, overseas market access, and safety standard research. For automakers and intelligent driving solution providers targeting the European market, the joint offering will allow them to fulfill EU-mandated regulatory scenario testing and compliance evidencing within established simulation workflows, delivering certification-ready scenario packages and compliance assessments that include explicit legal references and proof trees. Both parties stated they will continue deepening collaboration in areas including regulatory compliance for intelligent driving, safety validation, human-machine interaction, and artificial intelligence, working together to build a global regulatory-compliant infrastructure for intelligent driving validation.
