Kia Corporation and its Korean labor union reached a preliminary wage agreement on August 25, canceling a partial strike originally scheduled for August 26–28. Under the agreement, Kia workers will receive a monthly base salary increase of KRW 100,000 and a performance-based incentive package equivalent to 400% of their monthly salary plus KRW 12.7 million. The agreement will be put to a vote by all union members on August 28.
