On August 26, the 18th International Transportation Exhibition opened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, where DiDi and GAC Aion jointly unveiled their new autonomous ride-hailing vehicle, the Robotaxi R2. This model is already providing public autonomous ride-hailing services in designated demonstration zones in Beijing and Guangzhou. The Robotaxi R2 is equipped with DiDi Autonomous Driving’s latest-generation hardware platform, featuring 33 sensors, GPU computing power exceeding 2,000 TOPS, and the industry’s first mass-produced central computing unit that integrates three domains. The rear cabin includes a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen supporting AI-powered voice interaction controls. Also on display were other DiDi offerings, including the Qingju electric bike VM7.2 compliant with China’s new national standards, the “Wenwen Di” dual-suspension shared bicycle, ride-pooling buses, and DiDi Bus services. By the time of the exhibition, DiDi had expanded into 14 countries and regions worldwide, serving over 100 million users globally. Its Brazilian subsidiary, 99, has completed 65 million electric vehicle ride orders to date. As of June 30, 2026, DiDi’s intelligent EV charging network will cover more than 290 cities across China, connecting over 74,000 charging stations. At the event, DiDi also showcased a liquid-cooled ultra-fast charger co-developed with charging infrastructure manufacturers, capable of delivering a peak output power of 1,600 kW.
