On August 28, BYD announced the launch of its 10,000th flash-charging station in Shenzhen. The company stated that its flash-charging network now spans locations including Hulunbuir, Sanya, Shuangyashan, and Kashgar. BYD highlighted that its flash-charging business has set three records among Chinese automakers: the largest number of self-built charging stations nationwide, the shortest time to reach 10,000 stations, and the broadest geographical coverage of charging stations. Since the launch of its self-built charging network less than six months ago, BYD has delivered a cumulative 210 million kWh of charging energy, with over 1.83 million total users across its national flash-charging network—nearly one-third of whom own non-BYD vehicles. BYD also announced its goal to build 20,000 flash-charging stations by the end of 2026. Its partners in this initiative include Sinopec, PetroChina, JD.com, Alipay, CNOOC, TELD, UCAR, and AutoNavi.
