OpenAI is advancing the release of its next-generation AI model, Astra, and has added a new testing phase called "mozaik-alpha-fdm" to expand internal evaluations. Following OpenAI’s celestial naming tradition, "Astra" means "stars" in Latin. The model demonstrates notable progress in fields such as mathematics, physics, biology, medicine, chemistry, and cybersecurity, and has already solved several long-standing, high-level mathematical problems. Although it has not yet been officially confirmed as GPT-6, industry observers widely consider Astra a potential candidate name for GPT-6, with an estimated parameter count reaching 10 trillion. According to publicly available test results, Astra shows enhanced capabilities in code generation and visual software creation, having produced in a single conversational interaction a game resembling *Grand Theft Auto 2* (GTA2), websites, 3D objects, and voxel-based environments. Currently in the zero-shot testing phase, Astra exhibits significantly longer inference times than GPT-5.6Sol when operating at Max reasoning intensity.
