Ruijin Hospital and Huawei Cloud Launch RuiPath 2.0 Pathology Foundation Model

Ruijin Hospital and Huawei Cloud jointly launched the RuiPath 2.0 AI-powered digital pathology foundation model today. With 7 billion parameters, RuiPath 2.0 covers 19 common cancer types and supports 205 diagnostic tasks, addressing over 90% of daily diagnostic scenarios encountered by pathologists. The model delivers precise, interpretable annotations across key dimensions such as histological subtypes, depth of invasion, and mitotic figures. To tackle data scarcity in rare diseases, the two parties co-developed a multimodal generative pathology model to synthesize training data, achieving a diagnostic accuracy of 96.48% in lymphoma detection. Across 59 downstream diagnostic tasks, RuiPath 2.0 achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance on 42 of them. Additionally, the partners introduced RuiPath 2.0 Edge, a lightweight version with only 2 million parameters that can be deployed on standard hospital PCs, enabling minute-level inference in collaboration with cloud-based systems.
