Henan Aims for 1 Million New Energy Vehicles Produced This Year, Adds 15,000 Public Charging Stations

On August 28, the General Office of the People's Government of Henan Province issued a notice titled "Key Tasks and Measures to Resolutely Win the Summer-Autumn Economic Development Campaign and Promote Sustained, High-Quality Growth in the Second Half of 2026." The notice calls for expanding capacity and enhancing efficiency in emerging industries such as new energy vehicles, electronic information, and new materials. It aims to complete and put into operation projects including liquid-cooled servers, pickup trucks, passenger vehicle technological upgrades, and power batteries, with the goal of achieving an annual production volume of one million new energy vehicles. Additionally, the notice explicitly requires the construction of 15,000 new public charging piles (guns) for service sectors, the addition of over 50,000 urban public parking spaces, the replacement of 2,000 aging residential elevators, and the development of 300 "complete communities."
