On August 31, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, stated on his social media that the current MPV market is at an inflection point similar to the "Nokia versus iPhone" moment. He explained that internal combustion engine vehicles suffer from poor suspension systems due to the engine occupying space in the front of the vehicle, which restricts chassis layout. In contrast, a pure electric architecture can resolve this issue—a benefit already validated by user feedback on the Li Auto MEGA. The next-generation Li Auto MEGA will be unveiled on September 2 at 19:30. It measures 5,355 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm and a curb weight of 2,925 kg. The vehicle has a top speed of 200 km/h. The new model features semi-recessed door handles and adds side- and rear-facing solid-state LiDAR units, increasing the total number of LiDAR sensors on the vehicle from one to four. Li emphasized that transformative product experiences rely on new product definitions and the application of cutting-edge technologies.
