Seven Departments Push to Accelerate Standards for Intelligent Connected Vehicles

The Ministry of Commerce and six other government departments jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Expanding and Upgrading Goods Consumption," which calls for improving the standards system for consumer goods and accelerating the application of product standards for intelligent connected vehicles, smart home appliances and furniture, digital products, and artificial intelligence devices. The document requires expediting the development of interoperability standards for smart homes, refining national standards for fundamental communication protocols and data interfaces of smart terminals, shortening the standard development and revision cycle for key areas, establishing a rapid response mechanism, and proactively initiating standard-setting work for emerging sectors such as collectible toys and related derivatives. Additionally, it will launch a quality-enhancement initiative targeting key consumer goods industries, carry out monitoring and effectiveness evaluations of implemented consumer goods standards, and strengthen alignment between domestic and international product standards and certifications.
