On September 1, GAC Trumpchi announced that the 500,000th unit of the Trumpchi M8 has rolled off the production line, making it the first self-branded luxury MPV in China to surpass the 500,000 sales milestone. Meanwhile, cumulative sales of the Trumpchi MPV family have exceeded 900,000 units, and it has secured the top spot in China’s domestic luxury MPV segment for 75 consecutive months. In June this year, GAC Trumpchi launched the Trumpchi M8 PHEV L “Yearning” model, measuring 5,264 mm in length, 1,898 mm in width, and 1,848 mm (or 1,829 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. Powered by a 1.5T engine delivering a maximum output of 125 kW and peak torque of 245 N·m, the vehicle features a front MacPherson and rear multi-link suspension setup. The top-tier AWD Ultra variant is equipped with dual-valve SDC electromagnetic dampers. It offers a CLTC all-electric range of 248 km, a fuel consumption of 6.05 L/100 km under low-battery conditions, and a combined driving range exceeding 1,300 km. Standard features include power-sliding doors on both sides, while the flagship AWD Ultra trim adds ISD intelligent interactive taillights. For intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with one LiDAR unit, 12 ultrasonic sensors, three millimeter-wave radars, and 11 cameras, enabling urban NDA navigation assistance and automated valet parking. The interior adopts a “Galaxy Embrace” design theme, featuring a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch central touchscreen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. It runs ADIGO SENSE, an integrated cloud-edge large AI model, and supports smartphone connectivity and Sentry Mode. The seating configuration is 2+2+3 seven-seater; all trims except the base model come with second-row zero-gravity seats, and the top-spec variant further adds second-row armrest control screens, multi-mode seat massage functions, and third-row seat heating.
