On September 1, Porsche's Sonderwunsch department confirmed that, in theory, it could build a manual-transmission Panamera if a customer requests it and covers the associated costs. The first-generation Panamera was offered with a six-speed manual gearbox between 2009 and 2013, with a total of 146 units produced worldwide—50 equipped with the V6 engine and 96 with the naturally aspirated V8. If such a new car were to be built, it would become the 147th manual-transmission Panamera. During Monterey Car Week, Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Porsche Individual and Classic Cars, stated that this proposal is not an approved production project and would only proceed if a customer formally commissions it and assumes the costs for custom development and manufacturing.
