Wuling Motors (HKEX: 00305) released its interim results for the six months ended August 31, 2026. For the first half of 2026, the company reported total revenue of RMB 4.00 billion, a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.6%; net profit was RMB 630 million, down 26.6% year-on-year; and profit attributable to owners of the company amounted to RMB 260 million, a decline of 33.5% compared to the same period last year. Among the company’s three core business segments: - Revenue from the components segment reached RMB 2.74 billion, down 3.3% year-on-year; - Revenue from the powertrain systems segment totaled RMB 880 million, up 2.6% year-on-year; - Revenue from the commercial vehicle segment stood at RMB 360 million, an increase of 14.6% year-on-year. All three core businesses recorded growth in operating profit: - Components segment operating profit was RMB 900 million, up 17.1% year-on-year; - Powertrain systems segment operating profit was RMB 160 million, surging 141.2% year-on-year; - Commercial vehicle segment operating profit was RMB 500 million, rising 76.7% year-on-year. Regarding new businesses, Wuling New Energy sold 13,000 vehicles in the first half of 2026, an increase of 49% year-on-year, generating total revenue of RMB 770 million, up 37% year-on-year. However, it reported a net operating loss of RMB 3.2 billion, with a loss attributable to Wuling Motors amounting to RMB 800 million, widening by 51.5% year-on-year. During the reporting period, the company’s research and development expenses totaled RMB 210 million, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year. The company’s share of losses from associates amounted to RMB 700 million, primarily due to the expanding losses of Wuling New Energy and adverse macroeconomic conditions.
