BYD's new energy vehicle components base in Fufeng County, Baoji, has recently launched a new round of large-scale recruitment, planning to hire 2,200 workers. The facility currently employs approximately 7,200 people; if the hiring drive is successfully completed, its workforce will approach 10,000. The base has significantly expanded its wiring harness operations, with BYD’s original wiring harness production lines from Xi’an gradually relocated to Fufeng. According to the latest figures, the number of wiring harness production lines at the Fufeng base has increased to 87, with the goal of establishing the largest, most automated, and most information-technology-integrated wiring harness factory within BYD’s domestic operations. Additionally, a newly built chassis stamping production line at the base commenced operations on August 26. Covering a workshop area of 32,760 square meters, the facility is planned to include 10 automated lines and 14 progressive die lines, producing components such as chassis frames and brake systems. At full capacity, it will achieve a monthly output of 100,000 vehicle sets, generating an estimated additional annual revenue of approximately RMB 5 billion. The new capacity will primarily supply BYD’s vehicle assembly plant in Xi’an, located about 100 kilometers away. According to official data from Baoji, the city’s automotive industry recorded a total output value of RMB 67.136 billion in 2025, up 12.35% year-on-year, with output linked to BYD surging by 128.53%. The Fufeng base generated approximately RMB 2.92 billion in output value in 2025, with projections of around RMB 3 billion for 2026. Phase I of the project was launched in 2023, originally targeting an output value exceeding RMB 10 billion and directly creating 17,000 jobs.
