Xiaomi 18 Fold to Debut Globally with ChangXin LPDDR6 Memory, Starting at ~$1,700

Xiaomi's autumn flagship launch event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on September 7, where the company will unveil the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable smartphone. Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, has already revealed the actual device, calling it Xiaomi’s most premium smartphone to date and highlighting its debut of the Xuanjie O3 AI flagship processor. According to user feedback, the Xiaomi Auto app now supports ultra-wide screen aspect ratios; previously, without this optimization, vehicle models within the app couldn’t be fully displayed. Xiaomi has clearly informed all top-tier channel partners that every variant of the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be priced above RMB 10,000, with the base model starting at approximately RMB 12,000. The device will also be the world’s first to feature ChangXin LPDDR6 memory. According to ChangXin Technology’s 2026 interim report, its LPDDR6 chips achieve a peak data rate of 12,800 Mbps and offer up to 16GB capacity.
