Xiaomi Auto's Phase II Factory Construction Approved, Total Capacity Set to Double

According to information from Beijing’s Online Approval and Supervision Platform for Investment Projects, Xiaomi’s Phase II Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base project passed the approval for construction project archival acceptance on September 2. Between June and July this year, approvals for planning verification and archival acceptance of the project’s workshops, perimeter walls, and other construction works were successively granted. This approval signifies that the project’s archives have been recognized by urban construction archival management authorities, fulfilling a key prerequisite for filing the final completion acceptance. The Phase II site of Xiaomi’s Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base is located in the Majuqiao Intelligent Manufacturing Zone within Beijing’s Yizhuang New Town, at plot number YZ00-0606-0106. The industrial land parcel was acquired by Xiaomi Jingxi Technology Co., Ltd.—a subsidiary of Xiaomi Communications Technology—for approximately RMB 842 million and is situated immediately east of Xiaomi’s automobile manufacturing plant. The site is designated for constructing a new-energy, intelligent, and connected vehicle (NEV/ICV) manufacturing facility for both complete vehicles and components, with a planned fixed asset investment of no less than RMB 2.6 billion and an annual output value upon full production of no less than RMB 16 billion. Xiaomi’s Phase I automobile plant has a designed annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles and has already increased its actual output through optimized production line processes. With the commissioning of the Phase II facility, Xiaomi Auto’s total production capacity will double.
