The Audi Innovation & Technology Center (AITC) was officially inaugurated in Shanghai on September 3. Jointly established by AUDI AG and SAIC Motor, AITC is a dedicated R&D entity for the AUDI brand, equipped with full vehicle development and end-to-end capabilities. Leveraging AUDI’s Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP 2.0), the two partners will co-develop four new AUDI models, with the first model scheduled for launch in 2028. AITC’s ownership structure comprises 49% held by SAIC Motor, 41% by AUDI AG, and 10% by Volkswagen Group China. Matthias Pfister has been appointed General Manager by AUDI, while SAIC has named Shan Yunwei as Deputy General Manager. The center will consist of approximately 300 employees focused on advancing next-generation, AI-driven premium mobility products.
