Nexteer's Changshu Plant Surpasses 300,000 Units Annual Production of Electric Power Steering Systems

Nexteer's Changshu plant recently achieved an annual production milestone of over 300,000 electric power steering (EPS) systems. The facility commenced operations in January 2025 and offers a comprehensive product portfolio, including dual pinion EPS (DPEPS), rack-assist EPS (REPS), steer-by-wire, and rear-wheel steering systems, supported by vertically integrated component manufacturing capabilities. This plant represents Nexteer’s most diverse and operationally complex manufacturing site within its global production network. Its EPS systems feature a modular, compact design compatible with vehicle architectures ranging from micro cars to large SUVs. Equipped with automated production lines, testing and validation laboratories, and an all-scenario simulation test track capable of replicating extreme road conditions and environmental factors worldwide, the Changshu facility has leveraged lean operational practices, localized supply chains, and a stable talent pool since launch to drive smart manufacturing upgrades and ramp up production capacity. To date, Nexteer has produced more than 120 million EPS units globally.
