HiPhi G9 Completes Real-World Active Collision Avoidance Tests, Reveals Pricing and Sales Figures

Recently, the Hongqi G9 underwent real-world testing of its newly upgraded lateral and rear active collision avoidance capabilities. The tests demonstrated that the vehicle can proactively identify potential collision risks from the side or rear, swiftly determine available evasion space, and execute emergency maneuvers to actively avoid collisions—all while preventing new collision risks during the avoidance process. The Hongqi G9 comes standard across all trims with 38 high-precision sensors, including an 896-line dual-path imaging-grade LiDAR. It is equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system and the Full-Dimensional Collision Avoidance 5.0 system, delivering comprehensive perception capabilities across all time domains, speeds, directions, weather conditions, object types, and driving scenarios. As the first tech-luxury rugged SUV under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility brand, the G9 is also the first luxury rugged SUV designed with an L3-level autonomous driving architecture. Beyond its intelligent driving features, the Hongqi G9 debuts Harmony Intelligent Mobility’s Smart All-Terrain System, an 800V fully active disconnectable stabilizer bar, and an adaptive dog-clutch differential lock. It also offers outdoor-oriented features such as an electric roof tent and a tailgate kitchen. Pricing starts at RMB 429,800. In terms of sales performance, Peng Lei, Product Director of Huawei Smart Selection Vehicles (Hongqi series), revealed on August 23 that the Hongqi G9 received over 5,000 firm orders within 24 hours of its launch, with the Ultra and Ultra+ variants accounting for more than 95% of those orders.
