The all-new Mercedes-Benz long-wheelbase GLE SUV will launch on September 16, 2024. The vehicle rolled off the production line at the Shunyi plant on September 1, featuring a wheelbase of 3,115 mm with a China-exclusive extended design and a spacious five-seat layout. Standard features include a sliding panoramic sunroof and seat vibration massage functionality. Externally, it is equipped with “Twin Star” headlights, an illuminated central star emblem, and illuminated grille borders. Inside, the cabin adopts a triple-screen layout and integrates Doubao, an AI-powered virtual assistant based on a large language model, with future integration of Momenta’s R7 World Model planned. The new GLE comes with an AR head-up display and both urban and highway navigation-assisted driving systems, supporting intelligent point-to-point (from parking spot to parking spot) assisted driving and automated parking assistance. Under the hood, it is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a standard electric auxiliary compressor, delivering a peak torque of 560 N·m, paired with a 17 kW ISG intelligent motor and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. All variants come standard with the 4MATIC intelligent all-wheel-drive system. In off-road mode, the AIRMATIC air suspension can be raised by 30 mm, achieving a minimum ground clearance of 271 mm.
