On September 3, Silan Integrated and Li Auto signed a new round of strategic cooperation agreement, jointly witnessing the successful production of 8-inch silicon carbide (SiC) wafers. According to the announcement, the application scope of their collaborative products has expanded from vehicle electric drive systems to areas such as onboard thermal management systems. In March 2024, the two parties first signed a strategic cooperation agreement, focusing on joint technological development in automotive-grade SiC. In February 2025, Silan Integrated achieved mass production of 6-inch SiC wafers, which were deployed in Li Auto’s i-series high-voltage battery electric vehicles. Silan Integrated is the first company in China to achieve mass production of 8-inch SiC wafers and has seamlessly integrated its production lines from 6-inch to 8-inch SiC. The newly produced 8-inch SiC chips are now set to enter the SOP (Start of Production) mass production phase.
