Porsche to Co-Produce All-Electric 718 and ICE 911 on Same Line; Christian Friedl to Head Production and Logistics in 2026

Porsche announced that Christian Friedl, aged 49, will join the company's Executive Board as Member for Production and Logistics globally, effective September 1, 2026. He will succeed Albrecht Reimold, who is retiring as planned after leading the department for over a decade. Friedl will oversee Porsche’s global production and logistics network, including manufacturing sites in Zuffenhausen and Leipzig, Germany, as well as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) production in Malaysia. During his tenure, the Zuffenhausen plant will integrate the new all-electric 718 model into the existing production line for the internal combustion engine-powered 911, enabling multiple models with different powertrains to be produced on the same assembly line.
