On September 5, Hua Jing Auto issued an official statement apologizing to customers for adjusting the delivery timeline of its first model, the Hua Jing S. The company explained that fluctuations in the automotive chip supply chain have led to a temporary shortage of cockpit chips for the HarmonyOS-powered infotainment system in the Hua Jing S, resulting in extended delivery times for some customer orders. Hua Jing Auto stated that its production capabilities are fully operational but acknowledged insufficient foresight and contingency planning regarding potential chip supply challenges. The company has now launched dedicated measures to secure chip supplies, including expanding sourcing channels with key partners and implementing diversified supply strategies. For customers who have finalized their orders but not yet taken delivery, dedicated advisors will provide continuous support, and updates on production scheduling and order progress will be shared via the official Hua Jing Auto app. The Hua Jing S is manufactured at the Intelligent Island Manufacturing System (I²MS), a smart production facility invested in by SAIC-GM-Wuling with over RMB 10 billion, achieving assembly precision at the 0.1mm level. Officially launched on May 8, 2024, the Hua Jing S is positioned as a large six-seater SUV, with a manufacturer-suggested retail price ranging from RMB 159,800 to RMB 203,800. All trims come standard with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS Pro advanced driver-assistance system and HarmonySpace 5 intelligent cockpit powered by HarmonyOS. According to official data, the Hua Jing S delivered 7,306 units in August, marking its fourth consecutive month of delivery growth, with cumulative deliveries surpassing 20,000 units as of August 17.
