Renault Reports H1 2026 Net Profit of €705 Million, Swings to Profit from Year-Ago Loss

On September 9, Renault released its interim financial report for fiscal year 2026 (covering the period from January 2026 to June 2026). According to the report, the Renault Group recorded total revenue of €30.252 billion (approximately RMB 236.365 billion at current exchange rates), an increase of 9.5% year-on-year. Of this, automotive revenue amounted to €26.806 billion (approximately RMB 209.441 billion), up 9.3% year-on-year, while financial services revenue reached €3.446 billion (approximately RMB 26.924 billion), rising 10.9% year-on-year. Net profit attributable to equity holders of the parent company stood at €705 million (approximately RMB 55.08 billion), compared with a net loss of €11.185 billion (approximately RMB 873.91 billion) in the same period of 2025. Basic earnings per share were €2.39 (approximately RMB 18.67), and diluted earnings per share were €2.36 (approximately RMB 18.44). Automotive operating free cash flow was €653 million (approximately RMB 51.02 billion), compared with an outflow of €620 million (approximately RMB 4.84 billion) in the same period of 2025. As of June 30, 2026, the automotive segment’s net financial position stood at €6.57 billion (approximately RMB 513.33 billion). In terms of sales performance, electrified vehicle sales accounted for 52.0% of total sales in Europe, an increase of 8.2 percentage points year-on-year; battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales represented 18.8% of total sales, up 6.5 percentage points year-on-year. Global sales of the Alpine brand rose by 69.1% year-on-year. Renault Group reaffirmed its full-year 2026 financial guidance: an operating margin of approximately 5.5% for the group and automotive free cash flow of around €1 billion (approximately RMB 78.13 billion).
